AMBILAMP/AMBIAFME and FENIE enter into cooperation agreement to foster electronic equipment recycling among installers

The two organisations have created an Action Plan with joint activities to increase the volume of waste electronic equipment collected from installation companies

FENIE, the Spanish National Federation of Electrical Installation Companies and AMBILAMP/AMBIAFME have entered into a cooperation agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, the two institutions will create and develop a joint Action Plan to foster the recycling of waste lighting and electronic equipment at FENIE member companies. The actions envisaged in the Plan will be undertaken in 2018 and 2019.

One of the main initiatives featured in the Action Plan drawn up by AMBILAMP/AMBIAFME and the FENIE is the voluntary implementation at FENIE member companies of a system for the collection of lamps, light fittings and electrical material relevant to each case (the collection of waste electrical materials will commence from August 15). AMBILAMP/AMBIAFME will be responsible for the provision of the collection service for these waste types.

AMBILAMP/AMBIAFME and the FENIE will also carry out actions related to raising awareness, training and information on the recycling of electronic equipment. This will be done through, amongst other organisations, Spanish Provincial Associations of Electrical Installation Companies. AMBILAMP/AMBIAFME will also be a silver sponsor of the FENIE’s Young Installers Awards. These awards encompass both theoretical and practical training for future professionals operating in the sector, who will contribute to environmental protection through their recycling efforts.
