Madrid water utility Canal de Isabel II to present R&D&i strategy for next four years at Innovation Day seminar.
To coincide with World Environment Day, the Fundación Canal is holding its first Innovation Day on June 5th. The event will bring together experts in innovation, water and business.
The seminar, which will be presented by scriptwriter and actor Federico de Juan, will take place at the head office of the Fundación. It is aimed at R&D&i professionals, the water sector, the infrastructure and engineering sectors and public authorities.
The aim is to demonstrate, through examples, how to convert innovative ideas into reality. For this purpose, the seminar will feature practical presentations given by representatives of Canal de Isabel II, as well as experts from other organisations, including Altran, Ayesa and the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
One of the highlights of the event will be the presentation of the Canal de Isabel II R&D&i strategy for the coming four years, including the organisation’s main challenges and goals.
The event will also be attended by institutions such as Imperial College London, representatives of international utilities such as Sydney Water, and Suez’s International Research Center on Water and Environment (CIRSEE).
To provide an example of innovation in the first person, this inaugural edition of Innovation Day will enjoy the presence of a special guest: InMoov, the first open-source, 3D-printed, life-sized robot. It will be demonstrated by its French creator, sculptor and designer Gael Langevin, who will narrate his personal experience in the conception of InMoov and the challenges that had to be overcome.
The seminar will be completed by participative presentations of experiences, during which it will be possible to try out new applications and discuss what the future will bring. The curtain will be brought down on the event by executive coaching consultant Víctor Küppers, who will provide motivation and transmit the passion needed to innovate, construct and improve in order to continue along the road to a progressive society.
There is no charge for attendance at the seminar but prior registration on the website is required.
