SUST4IN, experts in sustainability, announced today the launch of a 30-daycrowdfunding campaign to increase awareness on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to raise funds to support the development of the firstelearning course and guidebook for business to implement the SDGs.

The SDGs, adopted by 193 countries in 2015, set 17 goals for a better world by 2030, such as “End Poverty”, “Gender Equality” and “Climate Action”. For the first time, governments, civil society and businesses have a common agenda and shared vision for the future. While many companies have already committed to the SDGs, SUST4IN’s research has found a gap between the business commitment, and the company’s employees and supply chain –  the “SDGs Gap”.

Sustainable Development Goals for Business is the first elearning course – and guidebook – to help companies and their partners bridge that gap and implement the SDGs at the business level.Self-paced elearningenables flexibility at scale so that more people can receive training at times convenient for them, for a fraction of the cost of traditional training.

MarcioViegas, founder of SUST4IN, explained “The crowdfunding target is 30,000 euros, but our key objective is also to spread the word about the SDGs and get businesses and their partners to act together”. Almost 50% of the amount goes towards content development. The rest is put towards filming, editing, developing the elearning platform, and setting up distribution of the course for participants around the world. Translations to Spanish, Portuguese and other languages are planned as stretch goals.

The initial response has been very positive. Sustainability leaders, companies, investors, NGOs and universities, from countries as diverse as Brazil, Denmark, India, Japan, Kenya, Russia, Spain and the United Kingdom have alreadyshowedtheir initial interest. “A great initiative as we need far more momentum around the goals”, said Paul Polman, CEO of Unilever and a global sustainability advocate.

As part of the 30-day campaign on Indiegogo, the largest global crowdfunding platform, SUST4IN is offering a range of unique perks for funders: from individual licenses, to licenses for organizations, to training workshops, to sponsorship of licenses for businesses in least developing countries.
