The Saudi government agency Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has awarded Ayesa a contract to provide engineering consulting services for the desalination plant in Rabigh – Phase 3. This plant is located on the Red Sea coast and has a capacity of 600,000 m3/day, which makes it one of the three largest in the world.
The work contracted has been divided into two phases of six months each. The first includes the completion of field work (topography, bathymetry, geotechnics, maritime studies and sea water quality campaign) and preparation of the draft and technical specifications for the works. The second phase consists in assisting SWCC in the EPC tender award process: answering questions from bidders and a technical evaluation report of proposals from bidders.
Ayesa is one of only five companies in the world certified at the SWCC as desalination engineering specialists, allowing it to submit bids to all tenders in which it has been invited by the agency.
The Saudi Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) government agency is responsible for the production of desalinated water from seawater for most of the population of Saudi Arabia, numbering about 30 million inhabitants.
