Commencement of extension and modernization of water supply systems in Buzau County, Romania

The European Union has awarded Eptisa a new technical assistance contract in Romania to supervise the extension and modernization of the water supply systems in Buzau County. The Project seeks to to extend the coverage rate of the centralised water supply and wastewater services in Buzau County.

The contract includes two lots of construction work. The first is for the construction of 4 new water treatment plants in Buzau and Sapoca, and the second is for the construction and installation of new water supply networks in Buzau County, and the districts of Vernesti and Spataru. This includes the construction and installation of the water supply networks, installation of technological equipment, drinking water pumping stations, electrical connections, SCADA data transmission systems and staff training.

Eptisa is acting as the engineer under the FIDIC Conditions of Contract, Yellow and Red Book, and will establish the management system, the supervision of the two works contracts and a monitoring system capable of ensuring efficient services through cost control, progress monitoring, safety, environmental protection, cooperation with relevant authorities and other stakeholders.
