Government of Navarra to invest €51.2 million on improvements to wastewater and stormwater treatment

The Government of Navarra, through the Master Plan for the Sanitation of Rivers in Navarra, administered by publicly owned company Nilsa, envisages investment of €51.2 million in over 150 projects to improve wastewater and stormwater treatment over the next six years. The initiative will be financed through the sanitation levy.

According to information provided by the Government of Navarra, the new projects will be carried out within the framework of four lines of action: biological treatment in all towns with populations of under 500, control and management of stormwater and wastewater, renovation and upgrading of current infrastructure with an age of between 20 and 25 years, and urgent initiatives in districts with populations of under 250. The treatment facilities of towns such as Corella, Olazagutía, Olite, Sangüesa, Tafalla and Ultzama will be upgraded as part of this initiative.

Localities from the entire region will benefit from improved and/or new infrastructures included in the 2015-2021 Master Plan and initiatives are envisaged in: Murillo, Loza, Anoz, Lantz, Liédena, Pueyo, Lizarraga, Torres del Río, Villaveta, Ziordia, Urdax, Meoz, Salinas de Oro, Larrión, Monreal, Orbaizeta, Cabredo, Arano, Torrano, Ujué, Arbeiza, Labiano, Aguilar de Codés, Almandoz, Espronceda, Desojo, Bera, Baztan, Alsasua, Unzué, Ezkurra, Tafalla, Olite, Olazti/Olazagutía, Grocin, Zubielqui, Labeaga, Luquin, Zubieta, Doneztebe/Santesteban, Aróstegui, Sangüesa, Valtierra, Arguedas, Cintruénigo, Buñuel, Cortes, Corella, Arboniés, Urzainqui, Villanueva de Aezkoa, Armañanzas, Zugarramurdi, Etxarri-Aranatz, Izuriaga, Ollacarizqueta.
