Energy recovery continues to grow in Europe

Energy recovery from the non-recyclable fraction of municipal waste continues to grow in Europe. From 2013 to 2014, waste-to-energy grew by 1%, from 26% al 27%, according to figures published by Eurostat.

In Spain, energy recovery increased by 2%, from 10% to 12%. Our country currently has 10 waste-to-energy plants, and another facility is located in Andorra.

All the technical information associated with these facilities is available on the AEVERSU (Spanish Association of Energy Recovery from Municipal Solid Waste) website, where Internet users can find the main information on the sector, the features of the plants and the role played by them within the framework of sustainable municipal waste management in Spain.
