Global Omnium, through its subsidiary in Qatar, Aguas de Valencia WLL, which was founded in November 2015, recently secured its fourth major contract in Qatar subsequent to a public tendering process. The project consists of carrying out improvements and enhancements to a SCADA system. This involves technical study and analysis of a pressurised sewage network, and the design, execution and installation of equipment to optimise control of operations and maintenance, with a view to improving the hydraulic efficiency of the network and enhancing resource management. The contract, awarded by Ashghal, Qatar’s Public Works Authority, has a value of 7,569,477.14 QAR (around 2 million euro) and a duration of 11 months. This new milestone enables Global Omnium to position itself as a international technology leader, thanks to the export of know-how and the added value of proprietary technology developed and implemented exclusively by the company.
Global technology leader
Global Omnium currently ensures water supply and wastewater treatment for over 7 million people, both in Spain and in a number of international markets, including: Angola, Colombia, Ecuador, Qatar and Venezuela. The new contract in Qatar is the result of the digital transformation initiated by the company over a decade ago, which has enabled it to position itself at the forefront of technology by considerably improving its efficiency in terms of sizing water needs (and consequently energy needs) in order to meet the requirements of its clients.
