The 2018 edition of Conama, the Spanish National Environment Congress will take place in Madrid from September 26 to 29 and will feature the 14th Ibero-American Meeting on sustainable Development (EIMA). This event, promoted by Conama, seeks to create exchange networks between Europe and Latin America in order to share experiences and dialogue on the subject of sustainability.
EIMA 2018 will seek to create international alliances and consortiums between Spain and Latin-America, with the emphasis on the Nueva Agenda Urbana (New Urban Agenda) and solutions based on nature in urban ecosystems. Governments, businesses, financers, research centres, academics and social agents will be the main actors in these alliances.
The Ibero-American Meeting on Sustainable Development has been held annually since 2005 in different Latin-American countries. Last year’s event, held in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), served to reaffirm Latin America’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and compliance with the Paris Agreement.
