Monday saw the presentation of the 6th International Wetlands Congress (Wetlands Biodiversity and Services: Tools for Socio-Ecological Development), which will take place in Huesca from September 14th to 18th. The congress will be attended by over 300 professionals and researchers, 200 of whom will travel from outside Spain. FuturENVIRO is collaborating with this important international congress as a media partner.
Over 300 wetlands experts from a many different countries and four continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas) will come together at this important international event, due to be held at the Palacio de los Congresos in Huesca from September 14th to 18th. This edition of the Congress is entitled “Wetlands Biodiversity and Services: Tools for Socio-Ecological Development”. The event will feature active leadership and participation from the region of Los Monegros.
The main aim of the Congress is to provide a forum for the discussion of experiences, perspectives and interests, as well as to speak of the integration of services provided by wetlands in terms of the socio-economic development of inhabitants and regions. Wetlands contribute to enhanced biodiversity, as well as being a tourist attraction and providing regions with resources. Added to this is their undoubted environmental value.
