El MITECO lanza ayudas de 200 millones de euros para digitalizar los abastecimientos urbanos y mejorar la eficiencia en el uso del agua

This is the first call for proposals associated with the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) programme for the Digitalisation of the Urban Water Cycle and it is aimed at municipalities and associations of municipalities with populations of over 20,000. Grants of between 3 million and 10 million euros, or 60% and 90% of the total budget, will be available for selected projects. There is a deadline of 90 working days for the submission of project proposals and all authorities with water management competences, including public and private utilities, can participate.

The Spanish Official State Gazette (BOE) today published the Order opening the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge’s (MITECO) first call for proposals associated with the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) programme for the Digitalisation of the Urban Water Cycle. The call for proposals also includes actions to promote remote meter reading, water management alerts to citizens, platforms for the control and monitoring of water use and improving transparency and cybersecurity in water management in general.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF SELECTED PROJECTS AND GRANTS

The announcement of the successful project proposals will take place in Spring, 2023 and the deadline for completion of projects will be December 31, 2025, with a possible maximum extension until June 1, 2026.
