Rosa Cobo, new CEO of state-owned company Aguas de las Cuencas de España (ACUAES)

The Management Board of state-owned company Aguas de las Cuencas de España (Acuaes), which belongs to the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITECO), has ratified the appointment of María Rosa Cobo Mayoral as Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Born in Madrid, the new CEO has a degree in Business Sciences from the Universidad Complutense and is a member of the Higher Corps of State Civil Administrators.

Ms. Cobo’s professional career has seen her occupy a number of different positions in the Spanish National State Administration. She has been Sub-director General for the Administration of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Director of Electronic Administration Services at the Public Business Institution RED.ES. From May 2004 until April 2008, she directed the Immediate Office of the Secretary General for Territory and Biodiversity at the Ministry of the Environment.

Between 2009 and 2012, she headed the General Directorate of Relations between the Peripheral State Administration and the Autonomous Communities, and the General Directorate of Services at the Ministry of Territorial Policy.

Since 2012, she has been Advisory Spokesperson of the Directorate General of European Funds at the Ministry of the Treasury.
