Saint-Gobain Pam España participates in project to enhance drinking water supply in south of Lanzarote

Drinking water supply problems throughout the southern region of the island of Lanzarote led water utility Gestión Lanzarote to seek solutions to alleviate the problems. The resulting initiative saw the installation of a 10 km supply line, which in addition to connecting the Janubio SWRO desalination plant to the Breñas tank, also carries the water to Playa Blanca and the towns of Úga, Yaiza and the Maciot distribution tank.

This initiative, which required investment of €1.5 million, has enhanced drinking water supply in the entire southern region of the island. Saint-Gobain PAM España participated in the building of this infrastructure through the supply of butterfly valves with central shafts of different diameters. The company supplied 16 DN250 and 7 DN500 valves.

Canal Gestión Lanzarote has plans to publish calls for tenders for several new water supply related contracts throughout the island in the near future.
