Saint-Gobain PAM España participated in the work to improve the supply of drinking water to the town of La Garrovilla in Palencia, which belongs to the Vegas Bajas confederation of local authorities. The town suffered from supply problems arising from the poor capacity of the network and the age of the pipes.
The Regional Ministry of Development of the Government of Extremadura invested €519,224 in this initiative. It forms part of the 2014-2020 Plan, which seeks to achieve rational, efficient management of the entire urban water cycle.
Saint-Gobain PAM supplied 5430 ml DN 200 and 738 ml DN 150 pipes from its PAM Natural range for this project. This comprehensive ductile iron piping system for drinking water supply features a reinforced Biozinalium outer coating that complies with the pressure classes set out in the UNE-EN 545:2011 standard.
PAM Natural is the ideal solution for drinking water supply networks. In addition to the robustness, reliability, quick and easy installation, and high mechanical resistance traditionally associated with ductile iron pipes, the PAM Natural range offers two main benefits: increased pipe durability, thanks to the Biozinalium coating, which has a life of 3 or 4 times longer than zinc coating, and compatibility with the vast majority of terrain types.
