SUEZ Spain has been awarded a contract for the operation and maintenance of 23 WWTPs belonging to the Tagus and Tajuña river basin group of treatment plants, managed by Canal de Isabel II Gestión.
In addition to operation and maintenance, the contract also covers investment to conserve and enhance operations at these facilities. The activities and actions set out in the contract will be carried out over a period of 4 years.
The largest plants covered by the contract are Soto Gutiérrez, which serves Valdemoro, Ciempozuelos and San Martín de la Vega, with a treatment capacity of 26,000 m3/day, and the Aranjuez WWTP, with a capacity of 21,000 m3/day. Both plants implement tertiary treatment, enabling the provision of reclaimed water suitable for the irrigation of green areas and street cleansing.
In total, the 23 plants can treat the effluent of a population equivalent of approximately half a million.
