SUEZ won the Smart Water Company of the Year award at the Global Water Awards 2017, a global competition on water which was held in Madrid this year. The award was collected by Carlos Campos, Chief Operating Officer of SUEZ Advanced Solutions, which capitalizes on some of the group’s most outstanding innovations. The awards were presented on the night of 24 April at a dinner held in the Palacio de Cibeles.
In particular, it was stressed that SUEZ has an installed base of smart water meters, leak detectors and turbidity sensors which topped 100,000 in North America in 2016. “Armed with its Aquadvanced toolbox, SUEZ continues to blaze a trail ahead of the competition, with the ambitious goal of reading every meter, every hour, every day”.
Each year, the Global Water Awards are presented in the framework of the Global Water Summit, the biggest meeting point for the water industry worldwide. Created in 2006, these awards recognize pioneering initiatives in the water sector, assessing operating performance, innovative technology adoption and the use of sustainable financial models.
Nominations are shortlisted by a panel of industry experts and the winners are voted for by the event’s subscribers, reflecting the views of the international water community. The other companies competing as finalists in this category were Gutermann AG, Iota Services and Xylem.
